The chute construction is make up of 3 separate layers of specialized fabric materials. The inner layer is of Aramid materials which support the chute. Evacuees slide down the inside of this chute which bears the tensile stress. The middle layer is of Elastomer Spuncell materials which is the elastic braking chute enabling user to self-control the speed of descent.The outer layer is of fiberglass materials which is flame proof to protect the underlayers of chute from fire. This layer is not required when installed in a fire protective shaft.
